Trump: Hillary Is a Liar — ‘She Lies Like Crazy About Everything’

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” while responding to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton saying in the debate last night that he is “becoming ISIS’s best recruiter,” Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump declared that to be “just another Hillary lie.”

Trump said, “Nobody has been able to back that up. It’s nonsense. Just another Hillary lie. She lies like crazy about everything. Whether it’s trips where she was being gunned down in a helicopter or an airplane, she’s a liar and everybody knows that. But she just made this up in thin air.”

He continued, “I think my words represent toughness and strength. Hillary’s not strength. Hillary’s weak, frankly, she’s got no stamina, she’s got nothing….she couldn’t even get back on the stage. Nobody even knows what happened to her. It’s like she went home and went to sleep….She couldn’t get back on the stage last night I’ll tell you why. Because we need a president with great strength and stamina and Hillary doesn’t have that. We can not have another bad president like we have right now. We need a president with tremendous intelligence, smarts, cunning, strength, and stamina.”

He added, “She may have traveled a lot but she didn’t do the job because the entire world blew up around her. So she wasted a lot of time and energy and money and frankly she wasted a lot of lives because her policies were disaster for the world. The Middle East has blown up around her. Her decisions were horrible. and hundreds of thousands of people have been killed because of her faulty decisions.”

‘Fake bomb’ forces Air France flight into emergency landing

A bomb scare that forced an Air France flight into an emergency landing in Kenya on Sunday (December 20) turned out to be a hoax.

Flight AF 463 from Mauritius to Paris was diverted and evacuated at Mombasa airport after a passenger found a suspicious item in the toilets.

The package was taken away for examination. It turned out it was a fake bomb made of cardboard and a timer, the French airline said.

The Boeing 777, with more than 470 people on board, had been checked before take-off, Air France said.

“As usual the crew had carried out a safety check of all the cupboards in all the lavatories, including where the suspicious package was found,” the airline’s chief executive, Frédéric Gagey, told reporters.

Asked if the device was placed in the restroom during the flight, Gagey said that sounded like the most plausible scenario, but did not give more details.

The pilots decided to land at the nearest airport, in Kenya. The plane was evacuated using the emergency slides. Some passengers were later questioned by Kenyan police.

It’s the third Air France plane bound for Paris to be diverted over a bomb scare since the attacks that killed 130 people in the French capital last month.

A Christmas choir had a surprise visitor overnight after Bashar Assad made an appearance at a church in the Syrian capital of Damascus where rehearsals were taking place.

The Syrian president and his wife, Asma, visited the Notre Dame de Damas Church, an ancient cathedral located just 2 kilometers from the rebel-held neighborhood of Jobar in the eastern suburb of Ghouta in Damascus.

Assad and his wife chatted with the men and women of the “Joy Choir,” who were practicing ahead of a performance on Christmas Eve, state media said Saturday.

The couple were seen smiling and posing for pictures with the group and also listened to the recital of Christmas poems at the church, which was hit by mortar fire on Friday.

Riot police use water cannons to disperse demonstrators, Diyarbakir, Turkey.

Police have deployed tear gas and water cannon against several thousand protesters gathered in the streets of the Turkish city of Diyarbakir to condemn security operations against Kurdish militants, Reuters reports. T

he massive protest in Turkey’s southeast coincided with a conference at which Selahattin Demirtas, the co-leader of the pro-Kurdish Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), urged public “resistance” against the operations.

Diyarbakir Province is a stronghold of the Turkish Kurds. The city of Diyarbakir has been repeatedly flooded by anti-government protests. The latest was held on Monday, when people rallied against round-the-clock curfews being imposed in the region. At least seven Kurds were killed following clashes with Turkish security forces.

Dozens of Kurds have been killed in recent months following clashes with police in the province. Earlier, the Human Rights Foundation of Turkey reported of a total of 52 curfews imposed since mid-August across seven provinces in the region, affecting areas where some 1.3 million people live.On Thursday, reports emerged that the Turkish Army had sent military vehicles, including tanks, into civilian areas in its predominantly-Kurdish southeast. The Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) has been publishing photos of what it says is a fresh raid by the Turkish Army ever since the incursion began.

Once Done With Daesh, US Commandos Will Start Aiding Free Syrian Army

The contingent of elite US commandos which is currently on the ground in Syria could well start helping the Free Syrian Army in its fight against the country’s government as soon as they are done with Daesh (ISIL/ISIS), political analyst Dr. George Masse from the American University of Science and Technology in Beirut told RIA Novosti.

The US Special Operations Forces, which have been deployed and are currently on the ground in Syria, could well start helping the Free Syrian Army in its fight against the country’s government forces as soon as they are done with Daesh (also known as ISIL/ISIS), the political analyst said.

“The position of the US is still unclear. They could help the Free Syrian Army though they know well it consists of Islamists. And if they start helping them, it won’t be against Daesh, but against the Syrian Army and the Russians,” added Dr. George Masse, who is also the Chairperson of the Department of International Affairs, Humanities, & Social Sciences of the University in Beirut. The expert said that even if currently the US Special Forces are fighting Daesh, tomorrow they will turn against the Syrian Army, adding that the US TOW (“Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided”) anti-tank missiles, which were given to the rebels, only prove it.

Dr. Masse explained that the Americans will keep an eye out where the Syrians and the Russians are gaining ground and then will provide more weaponry to the other side, the Islamist terrorists.

fter Russia started its air operation in Syria,he said, the US and its allies had to adjust its strategy on the ground in fear that if they do not do anything and only watch Russia gaining success, Russian could take contorl of everything on the ground.

Masse, however, was doubtful that the US would provide any help to the Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG), as the US is an ally of Turkey, and Ankara is acting against any empowerment of the Kurds along Syria’s border with Turkey.

Turkey does not want the Kurds to have their own land as it is dangerous for Turkey, he said. The Americans, regardless of any changes in their strategy, will try to “play with the time” and watch for developments.  It is in the interests of the US to avoid seeing a quick resolution to the conflict.

On Monday, President Obama revealed that a small contingent of elite US commandos has begun working with allied forces inside Syria to “tighten the squeeze” on Daesh.

Speaking at the Pentagon, the president said that about 50 US Special Operations forces would help allied groups target Daesh leadership.

30 dead, 20 injured in cutthroat Boko Haram attack in Nigeria

Boko Haram militants attacked three villages in northeast Nigeria, killing 30 people and injuring 20, AFP reported, citing a local who is helping out the national army. The Islamists reportedly used machetes to “slaughter” their victims.

“Most of the victims were slaughtered and most of the wounded [had suffered] machete cuts,” said Mustapha Karimbe, a civilian who has been helping the Nigerian national military fight Boko Haram.

The attacks on the three villages – Warwara, Mangari and Bura-Shika – happened on Saturday. All of the villages are located in the state of Borno, near Buratai, which is the hometown of Nigeria’s highest military chief – Tukur Yusuf Buratai.

Details of the attack are coming to light only now, as communication posts had been damaged in previous Boko Haram attacks.

Most of the victims, a total of 20, were killed in Warwara village, another six were murdered in Bura-Shika, and four died in Mangari, according to another witness.

The Nigeria-based Boko Haram terrorist group has killed more people than Islamic State (IS, previously ISIS/ISIL), claiming 6,644 lives compared to 6,073 killed by IS, revealed the Global Terrorism Index recently published by the Institute for Economic and Peace (IEP). The Nigerian jihadists pledged allegiance to IS in March 2015.

This latest attack comes as Boko Haram fighters have intensified their attacks on Buratai and nearby settlements. Attackers usually come into a village, raid it, and burn it down.

Locals told AFP that they see the attacks as retaliation for the army chief’s ongoing fight against Boko Haram militants.

The radical terror group’s six-year insurgency, which aims to create an Islamic caliphate in northeast Nigeria, has left over 17,000 people dead.

Last week, Boko Haram brutally killed 14 people in the village of Kamuya, which is the hometown of the mother of Nigeria’s army chief.

Hollande makes flying visit to French aircraft carrier hitting Syria

French President Francois Hollande has made a flying visit to the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, on station in the eastern Mediterranean.

It is the main base for French jets now pounding ISIL positions in Syria, and along with the defence minister he sought to boost morale and get the latest updates on the progression of the French campaign.

The ship’s precise location is being kept secret and it changes its sailing pattern regularly, although any attack against the French flagship is thought to be beyond ISIL’s capabilities.

Friday was unusual in that there were more NATO and western airstrikes against ISIL in Syria than Iraq, and the Russians were very active too, although they continued to hit any group fighting the Syrian government and not just ISIL targets.

Oil facilities continue to be the target of choice as the international alliance seeks to cut off supplies of cash that the Islamic militants get by illegally selling fuel, which they then spend on weapons. Immobile and easy to hit, their destruction is weakening ISIL.

Breaking – Mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, in which 14 people died, being investigated as ‘act of terrorism’, FBI says

Law enforcement officers look over the evidence near the remains of a SUV involved in the Wednesdays attack is shown in San Bernardino, California December 3, 2015.

The FBI has announced that they are officially investigating the San Bernardino, California shooting as an act of terrorism.

The decision comes amid reports that one of the shooters, Tashfeen Malik, had pledged allegiance to Daesh, also known as ISIL/The Islamic State. Earlier reports also indicated that her husband and accomplice, Syed Rizwan Farook, had been in contact with suspected terrorists through social media.

There is no evidence to suggest that they were directed to carry out the attack by Daesh, but Malik and Farook may have been self-radicalized.

An FBI official said there was “certainly a possibility” that the shooters were planning a second attack, according to Reuters. The FBI also stressed that they are not aware of any terror threats to the United States at this time.

An FBI official has also told MSNBC that they are currently investigating a person of interest who may have legally purchased and provided to Farook the rifles used in the attack.

Malik and Farook opened fire on the conference room of a developmental disabilities center on Wednesday, killing 14 people and injuring another 21. The suspects also left behind what police believe may have been explosives. They were killed during a shootout with police hours later.

A search of the couple’s home found large stockpiles of ammunition and explosive material. Over 4,500 rounds of ammunition were discovered, as well as 12 pipe bombs.

Putin : Those who started turmoil in Middle East opened way for terrorists

Russian President Vladimir Putin is delivering the annual state of the nation address to outline his vision of the guidelines for the country’s development for the coming year and for the future

The destabilization of the situation in Middle Eastern countries resulted in opening the way for terrorists, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday in his state of the nation address to the Federal Assembly.

Putin said it was well known “who wanted to oust unfavorable regimes by rudely imposing their own rules.”

“And what was the result? (They) started this turmoil, destroyed statehood, set people against one another, and then they just, how we say in Russia, washed their hands, opening a way for radicals, extremists and terrorists,” the president noted.

Any criminal, bloody business with terrorism is inadmissible

Russian President Vladimir Putin in his State of the Nation Address has said that Russia cannot allow any criminal, bloody business with terrorism.

“Every civilized state must contribute to destroying terrorists, reaffirm its solidarity, not with declarations but by concrete actions, which means that there should be no double standards, no contacts with any terrorist organizations, no attempts to use them for their own purposes, no criminal, bloody business with terrorists,” the president said.

Terrorists must be destroyed far away from Russia

According to the president, Russian military in Syria are fighting for their country, destroying terrorists far away from Russia.

“In Syria, our Armed Forces are first of all fighting for Russia, it is security of our people that they are defending,” he said, noting that the Russian army and fleet had convincingly demonstrated their military efficiency and growing capabilities.

The biggest threat for Russia was coming from gunmen concentrated in Syria, he said. Putin said many of them had come from Russia or CIS member countries. “They are getting money, weapons, gathering strength. If they get stronger, winning there, they will inevitably come here to sow fear and hatred, to stage blasts, to kill and torture people,” Putin said, stressing that they must be destroyed far away from Russia.

That is why the decision had been made on a military operation in Syria on the basis of an official request by the legitimate Syrian authorities, he said.

Common front against international terrorism crucial

Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence that efforts of one country are not enough to defeat international terrorism.

“It is impossible to defeat international terrorism through efforts of just one country,” Putin said in his state of the nation address on Thursday. “Especially in conditions when the borders in the world are practically open, and the world is going through a new resettlement of peoples,” he added.

According to the president, exacerbating the situation was financial support the terrorists were getting. “The threat of terrorism is growing. The problem of Afghanistan has not been settled yet. The situation in that country is alarming and does not invite optimism,” the president said.

“Stable and by the way quite prosperous until recently countries of the Middle East and North Africa – Iraq, Libya, Syria, have turned into a zone of chaos and anarchy, from which a threat to the whole world comes,” he said.

Putin said the fight against terrorism was the fight for freedom and justice, for the lives of the people and the future of the whole civilization. “We know what the aggression of international terrorism means,” he reminded the audience. “Russia faced it in the middle of the 1990s, and our country, its citizens saw cruel terrorist attacks,” he added.

Acts of terror in Russia have already claimed the lives of thousands, and “this is the pain that will stay with us forever,” he said. “It took almost 10 years to chine the bandits,” Putin continued. “We have practically squeezed terrorists from Russia. But we are still waging an uncompromising fight against the remaining bandits,” he added.

Putin noted that there is an urgent need for presenting a common international front in the struggle against terrorism.

“All disputes and disagreements must be brushed aside and a powerful, united anti-terrorist front created on the basis of international law and under the auspices of the United Nations Organization,” Putin said.

Each civilized state is now obliged to contribute to the defeat of terrorists and to back up its solidarity with specific action.

“In the struggle with terrorism Russia demonstrated its extreme responsibility and its leadership,” Putin said. “Those resolute actions were supported by Russian society. This is well seen in the attitude of our people to this situation, their deep awareness of the total threat of terrorism and their manifestation of genuine patriotic feelings and high moral qualities.”

Putin said that the Russian people have the certainty that national interests, history, traditions and values are to be protected.

“The world community is confronted with stark lessons of the past. Historical parallels are obvious. In the 20th century the reluctance to pool efforts at the right moment in the struggle against Nazism had to be paid for with tens of millions of lives, lost in the bloodiest world war. These days we are faced with a destructive, barbaric ideology and we have no right to permit the newly-emerged obscurants achieve their aims,” Putin said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is delivering the annual state of the nation address to outline his vision of the guidelines for the country’s development for the coming year and for the future.

The speech is delivered in the Kremlin’s St. George Hall to Russia’s parliament, the Federal Assembly. Thursday’s address will be the 22nd one in Russia’s latest history and the twelfth for Putin.

Putin’s speech is broadcast live by state televisions channels and public radios.

Apart from the Duma deputies and the senators, members of the government, chairpersons of the Constitutional and Supreme Courts, the Prosecutor General, the heads of the Central Election Commission, the Accounting Chamber and the Public Chamber, regional governors, top clerics of major religious denominations, and mass media executives have been invited to attend.
